Lake Wakatipu is an inland lake formed by glaciers in the Otago Region on the South Island of New Zealand. Lake Wakatipu is New Zealand's longest (40 miles) and third largest lake. Lake Wakatipu is a long narrow "finger lake", approximately 3 miles across at its widest point.

Lake Wakatipu is surrounded by mountains adding to its incredible beauty and wide variety of activities. The Lake Wakatipu area is known for many adventure activities including skiing, paragliding and bungy jumping.
