Lake Chatuge
 
 
 

Lake Chatuge is located in the mountains of western North Carolina on the North Carolina/Georgia border. The 7,000 acre lake has 130 miles of shoreline for you to explore. Fishing in the lake is great for sunfish, crappie, and a variety of bass. Wade fishing for trout is also a popular activity. Visitors particularly enjoy boating and water sports. There are boat ramps at lakeside parks, as well as boat rentals. Clay County Recreation Park and Jackrabbit Mountain both have picnic areas and swimming areas. Jackrabbit Mountain also has hiking trails.
