Ossipee Lake is a popular lake in Carroll County, New Hampshire, in the White Mountains region. The lake has a surface area of 3,245 acres and has many vacation homes and condos along the banks as well as many private beaches. It’s a year-round lake. Ossipee Lake can be enjoyed year round as it is a favorite spot for ice fishing (once ice reaches the recommended depth). It is also near the White Mountain Ski area so families can enjoy both lake activities and skiing in the same locale. Other recommended winter activities include ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing and even cross country skiing. When winter has melted away the 10 mile shoreline becomes a jumping off point for power boats, jet skis, canoes, fishermen and swimmers alike. The Pine River boat ramp offers public access to the lake and there are several marinas which offer dock rentals. Ossipee Lake contains many types of fish including Bass, Trout, Salmon, and Pickerel. If the fish don’t seem to be biting but you can’t pull yourself away from the water you can always try waterskiing or tubing.
