Along the lake is a quiet village filled with campgrounds, golf courses, riding stable, small orchards, and several smaller lakes. During the second weekend of July, the annual Bear Lake Days family festival is held, making it a prime time summer spot for tourists. However, colorful falls and ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter mean you can't go wrong visiting here during any time of year. Bear Lake is located in the northern half of Manistee County in Michigan, just five miles from Lake Michigan shores. Visitors enjoy swimming, sailing, and especially fishing on this peaceful 1,800 acre lake, which is known for its Bass and Walleye. |
