Burt Lake is located at the northern tip of Lower Michigan in Cheboygan County. The ten-mile long lake is part of Michigan's "Inland Waterway", a chain of lakes and rivers spanning a total of 38 miles. Burt Lake offers fishing, swimming, golfing, sightseeing, boating, and one-mile trail for hiking. At the south end of the lake sits Burt Lake State Park, which is open from April to November and includes many campsites and 2,000 feet of sandy shoreline. In the village of Cheboygan, there is shopping, marinas, a lighthouse, and a popular beach.
