West Lake Okoboji
 
 
 

West Lake Okoboji is located in northwest Iowa in Dickinson County.  West Lake Okoboji is part of a string of lakes known as the Iowa Great Lakes which includes Spirit Lake, and five interconnect lakes:  West Okoboji, East Okoboji, Minnewashta, Upper Gar and Lower Gar. Measuring 7 miles long, 1 mile wide, with a maximum depth of 136 feet, West Lake Okoboji is the deepest and second largest lake in Iowa.  Neighboring Spirit Lake is the largest.

West Lake Okoboji is popular tourist destination in the summer and winter. Known for its clean blue water, it is considered to be one of three blue water lakes in the world along with Lake Geneva in Switzerland and Lake Louise in Canada.
