Located in Northern Indiana, Lake Wawasee is the largest natural lake in the state. One unique feature of the lake is the 2 acre sandbar near the southern shore. The sandbar is only 3-4 feet deep, but is surrounded by very deep water and is reached by boat. The lake is a great place for power boating, waterskiing, and sailing. There is a public access boat ramp as well as a number of marinas. There are also boat and Jet Ski rentals. After a long day on the water, you can stop for a meal at one of the three restaurants accessible by water. For the competitive angler, during the summer, the lake is host to a popular fishing tournament. If you plan on making a wintertime visit, the top catch is crappie. Other nearby attractions include golf courses, tennis courts, a movie theater, and a bowling alley. Lake Wawasee vacation rentals are located in Syracuse, which is in Northern Indiana. There are seven lakes in the area, of which Lake Wawasee is the largest. |
