Much of the area surrounding Rainbow Lake is private property, so respect of other's land is required by law. The shoreline is weedy, making travel difficult and forcing the use of a boat a necessity. Shore fishing can be done off the west or north ends and new amenities such as a boat launch, boat ramp, courtesy dock, parking and restrooms have been recently added. Some popular fish at the include catfish, bluegill, trout and bass. Camping is great in the summer while in the winter, bird watching (eagle watching) takes place because bald eagles are common around the lake at that time of year. Winter skiing (both downhill and cross country) and snowboarding take place during the winter while boating and hiking in the summer. Fishing and golfing could take place during all seasons except winter because the water freezes up.

Rainbow Lake vacation homes offer guests peace and quiet in the wilderness of Arizona. Rainbow Lake is in Pinetop-Lakeside, Navajo County, Arizona. Visitors to Pinetop Lakeside will experience winters with snow and summers with sun.
