Donner Lake is popular for fishing, sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddle board, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, bicycling, roller skating, sunning and beaching. Near to golfing, hiking, horse back riding, pool swimming, tennis, mountain biking, rock climbing and wildflower viewing. Donner Memorial State Park is one block from the house. There are six public docks across the road from the house.
