Enjoy the panoramic views from the Hot-Tub or any window on this 11 acre property. Sitting on the banks of The Salt River, this exquisite estate makes for the perfect get away in any season. Luxury finishes through out the property make you feel pampered while you look out at pristine wilderness from any window and all angles. The property gives you total privacy, yet you are just a short drive to downtown Alpine. Walk to the back yard and start casting, or hop on your snowmobile and ride directly into world class snowmobiling. Groomed trails connect close to the property with access to Greys River, Palisades and beyond.

Although you would be hard pressed to find better views anywhere, you might just enjoy some great features throughout the home. The great room fireplace is spectacular, while the kitchen makes a great place for entertaining. There is even a real wood burning pizza oven and a Hot-Tub two feet from the back door!

If you brought a trailer full of toys with you there is a huge circular driveway with access to a heated garage that would make a great workshop to get out of the weather if you need it.

It may be hard to peel yourself away from the comfort of this estate, but, a short journey (about an hour) takes you to Jackson Hole and the southern gates of Yellowstone... Fly fishing in the river out the back door and galavanting towards the Greys River is an easy alternative.

Beautiful Location and Home, but Not Maintained

The ranch house is situated in a beautifully scenic part of the Salt River and Thayne. The house was also beautiful itself and had comfortable beds/furniture, and a stocked kitchen. Privacy here was excellent. Upon arriving we quickly noticed a few things that could use maintenance. The TVs had no reception, weather-stripping made doors hard to close, the internet was not working and when we opened the hot tub it smelled and was a greenish-murky liquid. The TV was remedied by unplug/re-plug of the receivers. The internet would not work after a reset, but the next morning after a call to maintenance, they were able to fix the issue with the internet provider. We originally planned on renting a cabin in Star Valley Ranch, but we chose this rental and paid a higher rate in the hopes to enjoy the stars in a hot tub. After the assuring call with Kabino maintenance we hoped that the hot tub could be fixed and useable. While we were gone on the second day, a hot tub person was sent for repair. When we returned the hot tub was no longer green but murkier and contained a new white film along the surface along with a nauseating smell of chemicals. It was still too gross to ever use the hot tub. The same water was kept form the day before now with an over abundance of chemicals. No one in our party dared use this amenity. Overall these and other small maintenance issues made the property feel sub-par. I don?t believe it is the guest?s responsibility to troubleshoot issues. It was not fun spending vacation time working through problems. I hope management can fix these issues for the guests in the future because this place has potential to be nice. I am not sure what is the cause of this lower quality maintenance and it is unfortunate that such things can mask such a beautiful place. It makes us question whether the amenities listed on a rental can be trusted to be available. It all adds up for a less than stellar experience in Star Valley.

The hot tub is an important amenity, and the breaker issue has been resolved. We have routine maintenance on this tub, and will closely monitor any issues moving forward. beautiful house in a valley

we loved this house! we had some problems entering the property, but finally managed. the house was clean, spacious and perfect for our group. the setting with the river running through the property was quintessential Wyoming. the kitchen is very well stocked with everything you would need to prepare a meal (minus the groceries of course) only little hick up there were no wine glasses. a wine fridge though. one thing i would like to mention is that the house is offered as a 4 bedroom, 3 bath. we initially were going to be 4 couples, that wouldn't have worked out: the fourth bedroom is just a study with a trundle bed and the 3rd bathroom is only a half bath. so the 4th couple would have had to use the master bath jointly as the study was located next to the master bedroom. for us it wasn't an issue as we were three couples (two bedrooms share a jack'n'jill) but it could be of some issues to someone else, so we would like to clarify that. otherwise kabino was nice to work with and we loved the house.

We loved our week stay at this house. Very picturesque with views from every window of the house. You truly feel like you are part of nature. The house is less than an hour away from Jackson Hole, so we found it a convenient location to visit the sites there. Our kids loved the nights when they could be in the hot tub looking at the stars. The neighbors were really nice- they would wave to use whenever we passed by. The kitchen is fabulous! It's a kitchen you actually want to cook in- very expensive appliances- everything was top of the line and it has a huge island. Even cleaning dishes, you have the most beautiful view of the mountains from the windows. Loved our stay- will definitely be coming back!

Excellent views, with well kept grounds, and wildlife (birds and deer in the backyard, bald eagles over the river, etc.). Great accommodations, especially the kitchen, and with casement windows easy to cool down the house without AC. Hot tub a big motivator for renting the place, but it was dirty/grimy. Having movable fans would help for upstairs rooms, and the all-use bathroom wouldn't lock. Lots of food in the pantry, but some of it many years old. Otherwise, a great place.

We could not get through the gate metby a neighbor who told us this was not a legal rental and we needed to get a hotel! After taking to several people on the phone and threats of the police showing up.we finally got in.this took almost 2 hours with 8 women waiting to get in.the home was awesome but the neighbors made us very uncomfortable.

Great house for a winter stay. Not so good neighbors. When you show up to a place to snowmobile and there are tracks in the snow, that means do not ride. We tried to ride from the house on the first morning. We quickly realized this was not doable so we returned to the house to trailer to a trail head. We were met by a very pissed neighbor threatening to call the police. Snowmobiles are not allowed in the subdivision. With in 1 hour I had 4 emails and 4 voicemails from 4 different upset Kabino employees threatening that we would have to leave the property. It was then explained to me that the week prior this was an issue with the previous renters and the police were called. Maybe Kabino should advertise that this has been an issue and sleds are not allowed in the area. This would eliminate what becomes their battle with the neighbors. They could also communicate with each other. I don't need 4 emails and 4 voicemails of threats from 4 different Kabino folks. The trash policy is spelled out very well and if not followed there is a fine. When we showed up there were 3 bins full of unbagged trash. I made this clear when checking out. I only called 1 of the 4 folks that contacted me and I was not charged. Other than these issues the house is great. We as guests and the strippers loved it.

However, your party was ripping through private property, and backyards of other private residences. Vacation rentals in this area are a privilege and we ask you respect private property and ride straight to the trailheads from this vacation rental. There are several access points to trailheads and backcountry without having to trailer from this property. You can contact the Star Valley Chamber of Commerce to locate which trailhead is best for your group.

Fraudulent Property Management Company!

When we first arrived the snow removal to the front entry was not done so we had to shovel it ourselves. There isn't a hot tub on site as advertised - We were told pre-arrival that the hot tub was brand new and ready to use. Further properties with hot tubs demand a premium and the premium is $100/night. We shoveled the deck off looking for this hot tub and never found one. We called the on site property manager and couldn't get a hold of him and never got a call back. Finally called him again on the second day and got a lot of excuses why he was unavailable and why the hot tub wasn't installed.No coffee maker - but they did bring us one and some conciliatory gifts which was nice.Garbage cans were buried out in the snow by the side of the road and we had to dig them out. Had to pick up the trash that was dumped out of them in the snow and bring them back to the house.Overall the house is great but the property management company is sub par and lacking in morals. Renter beware...you may not get what you paid for and they will not refund your money or make it right. We tried and are now having to dispute the charge.Not a fun experience.

We've had massive snowfall in the area, and although it appears to be an excuse, this hot-tub was scheduled to be installed 3 days prior to your arrival. All mountain passes were closed, and the hot-tub company backed up on all installations. At one point, the install was promised on the day of your arrival. We certainly couldn't expect this massive snow fall in the area or the highway department closing roads down. Our offer to make this difference up to you now, or in the future with another stay still stands. We appreciate our guests and nothing makes us happier then to see repeat business. The day of your departure, the hot-tub was finally installed, and it is wonderful. Please see pictures on our website! Thanks again for your input.

Beautiful Relaxing Retreat!

This was an incredible getaway cabin, although it's far more - more like a lodge with almost every possible amenity! The kitchen was beyond fully-stocked, allowing all kinds of meals to be cooked. The beds were all comfortable, with the master king bed including a memory-foam mattress. We spent most of our evenings in the spacious, relaxing great room. Temperatures outside were well below zero so we kept a large fire going, although the whole place was well-heated with abundant hot water. Due to the cold, we didn't explore outside as much as we'd like, but the solitude and silence was very peaceful. The owners are supposed to be installing a hot tub soon, which is about the only thing I could imagine lacking at the Salt River Ranch. The property managers took care of every last detail to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Thanks so much, we hope to come back in the summer or fall, what a gorgeous area!
