Villa Lavanda is a small country house of approximately 100 square meters
(approximately 1075 square feet) which sleeps five persons. It has a garden, a
swimming pool and a wide view of the surrounding hills.

It is located 8 km (5 miles) outside Sorano, which is known as the “town of the
tuff”. The history of Sorano dates back to the third century B.C., and it is an
essential stop if you wish to discover the traces of the Etruscan civilization.

The area is made of verdant hills, and Villa Lavanda is situated in an elevated
position on the slope of one of these hills. It is surrounded by an estate of 3
hectares (approximately 7.5 acres), which includes a beautiful oak wood.

Villa Lavanda is an ancient small house with stone walls, which used to be a
shelter for the peasants.

The owners have turned it in a simple and pleasant holiday home, keeping the
simple ancient structure made of wood and stone.

In front of the house you will find a swimming pool surrounded by the
vegetation, equipped with sun lounges and beach umbrella. A few steps away there
is a covered patio with table and chairs, barbecue and wood-burning oven to make
pizza.

You will be able to look around in any direction, from any spot in the garden or
while sunbathing by the pool, and you will only sea a horizon of green hills,
fields and woods.

The air is clear and perfumed by the grass and the flowers. Your children will
have fun playing free, and you will be able to take hikes in the nearby small
wood.

The villa is furnished in a simple way, with items peculiar of the local country
life.

The floors of the living area are tiled with ancient terracotta tiles and the floors upstairs are made of wood, and the ceiling is made with
wood beams.

On the ground floor there is a living room which has an old fireplace and a
kitchenette. Around the fireplace there is a sofa, two armchairs, table and
chairs. The kitchenette is equipped with a four-burner cooker, a refrigerator
and a small oven.

From the living room you will be able to reach a bedroom with a double bed. On
the bottom floor there is also the bathroom with shower. A wood stairway takes
you to the top level, where you will find a bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom, with a washbasin and a toilet, and a
small bedroom with a single bed.

Villa Lavanda is equipped with central heating and has a parking lot. The
swimming pool is 5 meters (16 feet) large by 10 meters (32 feet) long, 1.3 meters (4.2 feet) deep and is open from mid-May to
mid-October. At Villa Lavanda you will find a washing machine, located in a separate building, at approximatly 100 meters (328 feet) from the house.

The closest shops are at 2 km (approximately 1.2 miles), in the burg called
“Elmo”. The bus stop is at 8 km (5 miles), thus to stay at Villa Lavanda you
will need a car.

In the surroundings you will find horse centers, tennis courts and a golf club.
If you are fond of walking, in this area you will be able to take fascinating
hikes that follow the ancient paths traced by the Etruscans.

Villa Lavanda is also a perfect place to relax between a trip and the next one
to the nearby villages, rich in art, history and traditions.

In the immediate surroundings there are important Etruscan and Roman excavation
sites, such as the Etruscan necropolis of Sovana, remarkable strongholds and
sixteenth-century burgs, as well as an extraordinary natural environment created
by the tuffaceous hills. You will be able to take day trips to Pitigliano (20
km/12 miles), famous for being built on top of a tuffaceous hill, Orvieto (80
km/50 miles) and its splendid Cathedral, Siena (100 km/60 miles), Florence and
the other art cities of Tuscany. The international airport of Rome Fiumicino (FCO)
is approximately 160 km (100 miles). The splendid Argentario coast is at
approximately 60 km (40 miles).
