Family Trip Jay L. from Jacksonville, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2012 All in All the trip was very nice, made my mother 68 birthday unforgetable. The house was very nice however several of the TVs where missing their remotes or they did not work, and the Tubes in the rooms had not been run in a long time causeing the jets to produce alot of dirt and rust when they were used. The hot tube was very low on water and we had to fill it back up. As stated above the trip was very nice and I would do it again. The problems listed above are small and did not cause that big of a problem for anyone. Thanks Jay |

Very Dissappointed Peggy F. from Pecksmill, WV does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2012 The website (which now has been changed) led me to believe the cabin was equipped with Wi-Fi. Once part of our party arrived and informed me that the Wi-Fi could not be accessed I called and was given a password. We arrived later in the evening d/t working that day. Drove 5 hours to find the phone in the cabin not working. Used my cell which had spotty service to call the office who tried giving me several different passwords only to decide there was no WI FI. I was also informed that the phone service could not be fixed until Monday. They were kind enough to offer a different cabin, but the time was so late (9pm) and the members of my party were so tired they did not want to try to find a cabin 20 minutes away in the dark. The upstairs shower had a sewage smell that came up from the pipes after someone showered. Only one bedroom and the living room had television that worked. DVD player in living room did not work. The cabin was beautiful and the location was beautiful, but not having a phone, internet access, and spotty cell service was very inconvenient since members of our party rely on communication for their business dealings. After some insistence a small refund was given off the total price, but this definitely did not change the fact that our weekend was not what we had planned. This definitely was not a 5 star cabin as described on the website. |

Mixed up cabins A guest from Four Oaks, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2011 This is the third time we have stayed at Brothers Cove and we always reserve the same cabin. I reserved our usual cabin months in advance only to get there on the day of check in to find out that there had been a reservation mix up. They gave us another cabin that was comparable to the one I wanted, but it was really disappointing. I really love going up there each year, but now I have learned that I should check and double check often to make sure they have my reservation correct. |

Too far out A guest from Ring Gold, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2011 The cabin was just too far out and it seemed like it took us forever to get out and in. I hate the road being one way and having to go all the way up the mountain and back down just to get to our cabin. It needed more things to cook with because I tried to make breakfast and had a hard time doing so. |

Stayed for 7 days in October, 2011 The cabin itself was nice, but the cleaning was a problem. the cleaning service hit the high spots only. there was a dirty sock in the sheets of the master bedroom. the description says there is a tv in the master bedroom, but this is not true. lot of little repairs need attention in this cabin. we will probably go back to patriot rentals next year. |

Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 I've stayed at Brother's Cove on several occasions and have been quite pleased. This unit however could use updating. The TV in the family room got a limited number of channel, not including the main 3, ABC, NBC, and CBS. We talked to the management about this twice, but were assured that was because of the package purchased by the owner. The TVs in the bedrooms were for VHS/DVD only. Since the purpose of the trip was not to watch TV, it was not a big inconvenience, but previous units we stayed in had working TVs in the bedrooms as well. The unit was not cleaned as well as we would have expected. There were cobwebs throughout. The bathrooms on the second floor were tiny. I could barely hold my hair dryer and a brush up at the same time and still see in the mirror. Since there were no mirrors in the bedroom, there was no opportunity to move there for more room to get ready. Again, overall the unit was acceptable, but I would not choose it again. |

We had only 2 issues with the cabin - the big screen tv kept jumping off line (some of the issue could have been user error - some were equipment error) and we didn't have local phone service. |

Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 The Big Screen TV was broken....very small TVs in the bedrooms, The Hottub had a mildew odor, the cabin was a little further from town then we would have liked. when we got there it appeared as if the cabin had been vacant for some time and not kept up with (dead bugs in the tubs, cobwebs and dust). |

Stayed for 3 days in March, 2011 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brothers Cove = Hoot and Hollar #31. The cabin was very spacious and the amenities were enjoyed by all. This was our first visit to Brothers Cove but was a referal from a friend who had been to Brothers Cove before. No complaints about our stay. Everything we needed worked. Staff at American Mountain Rentals and also at Brothers Cove were very friendly and helpful. The "pet friendly" environment was enjoyable too. Beds were very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hoot N Hollar and really would not have to leave the cabin for the stay to be enjoyable. An excellent place to relax. |

Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 The chalet was in desperate need of updating - new appliances, flat screen TV's and apparently a whole new plumbing system. On many occasions brown water flowed from the faucets. It made showering very undesirable. We managed to have a good time but it was despite the living conditions. |

Stayed for 4 days in October, 2010 We were originally going to stay in Tree Tops and it was FAR LESS than we anticipated. Management was very customer friendly and put us up in Hoot n Hollar # 31 for no extra charge. It was a fantastic cabin and we had a great time and really really appreciated the owner of American Mountain Rentals great customer service. THANK YOU!! All was great except for we had a lot of TV trouble. In reading the guest book it looks like many renters have had a hard time with the tv, maybe that cn be fixed. We will be back and rent from your ental company. |

Stayed for 3 days in October, 2010 we stayed at hoot and hollarthe drive way was impossible (wee were on motorcyles) also the walls were thin as paper. so with 4 couples they was no privacy at all. the cabin was not cleanand the kitchen did not have the correct things for cooking. the night before we left someone came out and repaired the lights outside (landscape lighing) so the entire evening we could not sleep because the lights were shining into our bedrooms. very disappointed in this cabin you would thinkg for 1180 dollars we could have had a nicer place.we have stayed for many years in brothers cove this was byfar the worst experience. |

Whisper #43 too dirty to stay Renee C. from Mocksville, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2010 We arrived to find our cabin, Whispers #43 had not been cleaned. We are talking not just not cleaned from the previous guest, but not cleaned in a while. We were given another cabin after someone from the office came to tidy up for us and decided it was too much for them. We were moved to Hoot N Hollar #31. It was much better, but it still had cleaning issues. I don't really understand, these properties have a great potential, but someone is allowing their cleaning staff to ruin their business. The view was wonderful, could be a great place, but you are too busy checking out the cleaning issue to enjoy it! |
