The lawn was long and there was human feces (with toilet paper) in the yard. The cabin itself was nice, clean and comfortable. The driveway is quite steep and it is quite a drive to town, so take supplies up with you the first time. You are not able to walk around the property since it is cut out of the hillside. The Bath tub was dirty and the bed in that room smelled like a cheap man's cologne. Also, the TV in the main room was stuck in the Closed Caption mode and since none of the remotes worked, it could not be turned off. That is very distracting especially trying to watch a sporting event Saturday night. You need to have someone go and program the Hughes remote to work the TV or at least have a good TV remote. A relaxed pace at Pacesetter A guest from Slidell, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2010 Pacesetter Cabin is a really nice cabin. When we were there over Christmas 2010, it had snowed about seven inches and the scenery was just beautiful. The only trouble we had was getting up the driveway, it is rather steap. The fireplace is one that actually puts out heat and by far it was one of the warmest cabins we have stayed in in the area, the floors stayed so warm, very well insulated. The furnishings in the cabin were really nice, even though it is a pet friendly cabin, it did not smell of animals. The bed in the master bedroom is high off the ground, but is a spacious king size bed, that is quite comfortable. The only down sides were the bedding, it could stand to be freshened up a bit and it would be nice to have blinds in the living area, the sun does come through in the morning. The bathrooms were nice, in the Master bath, there is just a shower, but it does have a seat and the other bedroom's bath has a tub. There are ample closet space in both bedrooms, a plus. The kitchen in the cabin is spacious and it was nice to have such a large dining room table. The pool table in the cabin was nice,there was only one cue that was adequate, but we managed, the dart board needed darts as well. The location of the cabin was a drive from the Pigion Forge area. For the difference in price from cabins closer to Pigion Forge it was well worth the drive, we enjoyed the scenery of the cattle in the fields. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone searching for a pet friendly one, there was grass for your pet to explore, enjoy if you choose to stay at Pacesetter. W/o internet it was hard to navigate where to go in the area. There were many cobwebs in the windows above, but for the most part the cabin was clean. Had to take the thin mattress and put it on the floor because the frame was bent and bowed up in the center over six inches.There were a few little things too. Only one useable pool cue, board games were missing parts and only one unbroken dart for the dart board. A little trash left out by the hot tub and the outside grill was rusty.I plan to bring the family back to Pigeon Forge and the Smokey Mountains but I won't stay in this cabin. In spite of the little thins the cabin would be fine for a party of four at most. The other two beds were comfortable and the inside of the cabin was clean. The location was remote but had a black bear walk by the front of the cabin so it was worth the extra driving. Could be a very nice cabin if they'd take care of these things. First of all, the cabin was very spacious, although was very cold and without that feeling of hominess. The bed my husband and A guest from Glasgow, KY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2009 The property's location was the worst! The cabin was too far out. We had to plan everything we did just to make sure we had enough time to get to our destination. The road to the cabin was curvy and very dangerous. The view was just ok. We have stayed in your area before and was close the strip. The cabin just needs warming up with a scented mechanism, and the furniture was so cold and uninviting and in my opinion, was about to fall down. If we use your services again, we would not want to stay in the PACESETTER! Oh! One more thing, a bathtub would have been nice in the bedroom. A handicap ramp would also have a good thing,I have osteoarthritis and fibromyaliga and no steps and tub would have been great. When we arrived on the property there was dog hair on EVERYTHING -- including our place mats and napkins that we were to eat with (and we don't have a pet), dog chew toys all around the house, food crumbs and scraps under the kitchen table. I am fine with a pet friendly cabin -- but when I am staying there without a pet it should be free of the "leftovers" from other people's pets. I don't think I should be left with other peoples messes to clean up, especially on the things I am to sleep in, sit on and eat from. We were offered additional cleaning -- which was nice, but it was going to take a day or two so we went ahead and did it ourselves. Not my idea of fun on vacation, but we handled it and had a GREAT time. I still would recommend this cabin to others. Our expectations were high since we stayed at another one of the American Mountain Rentals properties (Birds eye view.) the year before and enjoyed that stay very much. The service we have received has been above and beyond what you would normally expect and still they seem to want to do more. We live in Southwest Florida and have friends in Northeast Texas and find this area as a great central point to meet and we all agree that whenever we go back American Mountain Rentals is the only choice. We loved the cabin. It was very nice and we were wanting to book this one again but upon looking at the website we saw you can't have pets there anymore so we were dissappointed we won't be able to come again. We brought our dogs cage with us and caged him while we went out and he never made a mess and treated it just like his own home..but I did notice upon arrival in one bathroom scratchs on the door which looked like someone else had looked their pet in there instead of following the rules of bringing a cage. New Jersey visiting Sevierville A guest from North Brunswick, NJ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2007 It was no doubt a beautifully furnished cabin, setup high on the hill with great view to the sounds of cows mooing; however, there was no one available nearby to instruct on how to operate the TV and/or stereo system which were hooked into a cable box. There was a high volume of insects on the balcony so there was no way you could take full benefit of the hot tub at any part of the day. At night, you couldn't enter the doorway without having worries about large insects entering the cabins; when a guest is expected on arrival; the area should be treated for insecticides that night or morning. The bathrooms were highly air-conditioned and no way to adjust the temperature so you freeze when coming out of the shower. We totally enjoy Dollywood and our drive to Gaitlinburg was worth the traffic but again no parking anywhere. Not what we were expecting A guest from tremont, IL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2007 My wife and I were looking for a secluded cabin for a getaway. The pictures on the web site did not show the other 5 cabins within throwing distance. Also it would have been nice to know that you were in the middle of construction of another cabin right in front of the one we were staying in. We got to wake up to them working during the week. Then two days before we left the farmer moved his cattle over to the pasture below our cabin. So for the last two day we got to listen to the cattle moo all day and all night. I would not recommend this property to a friend. I worn people not to use american mountain rental due to our stay.
