First of all, it did not have any cookie sheets or any baking pans. When I read a fully stocked kitchen, I expected those would be included. We cooked dinner in the cabin and had no way to cook our bread or our dessert. Also, it needed dusting. Along all the walls were cobwebs. The last thing that bothered me was the very last night of our stay, we felt as if someone was in the cabin with us. The kept hearing creaking and popping all over the cabin, but then we would hear stuff like a closet door shut. My husband and I were literally petrified. This is was the biggest issue I had with the cabin. I totally enjoyed the location and the drive to get to the cabin. Downside, the cabin was not clean when we checked in, however,we had to discover that ourselves when we got there. They gave us the key to a dirty cabin, and the comforter and pillows looked like they hadn't been washed in a long time. Also, despite the recent snows and ice on the roads, there was no effort to de-ice (sand, salt, etc.) the small stretches of access roads to the cabin, which was all the way up the mountain. Roads can be extremely treacherous when icy, and the company ought to help mitigate that for it's paying customers (poor form for customers paying $200+ per night. They did not even take away the outside trash during the week, which by the end of our stay it was overflowing. I found the envelope asking for a tip to do nothing was a bit insulting. The only thing dirty in the house was a coffee pot that was left uncleaned after the prior user, but was quickly made up for within an hour when maintenance brought by a brand new one after I had called!The only thing about the property location was that in was in a town that didn't seem to care too much about its permanent residents cleanliness or the quality od the streets you drive on to get there. People had their houses look like land fills just around the corner from the property and the roads had major rippled cracks that will wash away soon on top of the pot holes that made the already unnerving steep drive up even scarier. Once we got to the property it was gorgeous. Well kept up and very welcoming. The view wasn't amazing because we were backed right up on a hill so no grand view however the fall colors somewhat made up for it. We were unhappy with the parking situation at the cabin and felt unsafe getting in and out of our vehicle with people flying up and down the road at high speeds. We also felt it was unsafe for our children and pet to walk outside. In addition, the furniture in the cabin was very cheap and of poor quality. The sofa table had been broke and put back together many times. The sofa had holes in it and the bar stools were fragile and unusable. We were afraid to use the furniture because we did not want to be held responsible for damages already there. We felt the cabin was overpriced for what it offered and will not return or recommend it in the future.We hope this feed-back will help for future visitors of the cabin. I couldn't be any happier with the location, we were located 10 miles away from the hustle and bustle of tourist attraction and up on a mountain side. When arriving at the cabin everything was very new and clean, and for the first time, the online pictures that were given while deciding on a place to stay, didn't do the place justice. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2010 The cabin was not at all what I had hoped for; we have rented nearly 10 times in Pigeon Forge...this being the worst. The very cheaply made undecorated rooms did not give it a homey feel at all...the chair was broken, the lights burned out in the ceiling fan, the gas grill did not work nor did it look like it has worked in years, the hot tub extremely cloudy, the rug in living room full of pet hair; there is absolutely no privacy but the worst part is the location and parking. You must park along the road and hope that those that live in an apartment complex down the hill don't take your side off when buzzing through. Felt very unsecure, when we came home one afternoon there were three teenagers sitting on our deck stairs...wonder what would have happened if we had not returned at that time. We did not contact the office to complain, they were very short and rather uppity when we checked...didn't need the additional frustration during what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation we just made sure we were only there to sleep each night..$1100 down the drain. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2010 If you advertise a jacuzi tub, you should make sure that it is capable of being filled with hot water. The hot water tank is not capable of filling tub, with even warm water, to the jets! We bought steaks to cook on grill. We eat our steaks rare and after an hour and a half on the grill they were still RAW! Grill was either low on propane or broke. Otherwise it was a nice trip. A maintenance man was sent to check the water heater, but he couldn't do anything, as it is undersized. We went by the office at checkout and nicely told them of our problems and they shrugged their shoulders and said "never had any complaints before." We travel to that area often for business reasons. Usually you are offered something to make up for the inadequate conditions. But, you offered nothing! It was a very nice cabin and we had a good stay, but because of the response to our problems, we will try someone else next time. THANKS! Stayed for 4 days in April, 2009 Parking was terrible, cabin had major problems, bedroom downstairs, shower upstairs, furinture had holes worn in it, hot tub was yellow like it had never been drained and cleaned,dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, had to wash them and put them up. For a deadend street, traffic was terrible, cars just came flying down the road at all hours of the night. Also, most rental companies don't require to show up at the office to pick up keys, they are in the lock box when you get there and you return them to the lock box when you leave. Most rental places only charge 50 dollars for a pet fee, we had to pay and extra 150 dollars for two pets. Beautiful place and cabin A guest from Chambersburg, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2009 We were very happy with the cabin and enjoyed our stay. The only thing we had trouble with was the jacuzzi. We tried to use it twice and both times ended up with a cold bath. The water heater seems too small for the cabin and we had a hard time even with the shower getting enough hot water. We appreciate you letting us rent the cabin and would recommend it to friends. This was the fifth time me and my husband have rented a cabin in Tennessee. This was the first cabin that we have ever had wher vicky b. from chipley, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2008 The secretary on duty the night we checked in told my husband that we would have to return the key to the office at 9:00 in the morning on the day of our departure because that was the only key to the cabin. We needed to leave around 5:00 in the morning to drive 9 hours home so we returned to the office a few days later and another secretary told my husband we could drop the key in the drop box. Also the directions given to us to get to our cabin were not correct. Street signs listed on the directions were non-existent and we had a very hard time finding our cabin in the dark because of the incorrect directions. I do plan to return to Tennesee and rent another cabin in the future but I will not be using this company. We were so happy to find a "pet friendly" cabin with American Mountain Rental. We had planned on doing several things while in the area but only left one time for only 4 hours. We just wanted to stay in the cabin. It was wonderful. We liked it so much we stayed an extra night. Our "baby" loved it too! We will be back again soon with American Mountain Rentals! I noticed there were some low-income appartments around the corner from the cabin. A couple of tenants that I observed driving by the cabin seemed to be staring at us as they drove by. I thought they may be scoping us out. I also noticed that the cabins' rear door jam had been repaired. This made me concerned about our security. It was orange from rust, put my arm in and it came out orange. Alot of (white chemicals?) floating in water and the drain in the tub was not took 4 or 5 phone calls to get it fixed right. At first they kept sending someone to add more chemicals which did not help at all. Finally after several complaints a manger called and said they were sending someone to drain the tub and refill it. That took care of most of the problem but a good scrubbing was really needed to get it done right. At first we kept being told it was the well water and nothing could be done. If I'm paying for a hot tub I would want to know in advance that we would not be able to use it because of the well. The water in the cabin was fine so I think it just needed a good cleaning. We did have a problem with the whirl tub, it didn't get half way full and ran out of hot water. We only tried to use it our last day there so we didn't say anything. Wonderful A guest from Clarksville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2008 The best vacation we could have possibly taken. It was wonderful. You can go at your own pace. You can make it as relaxing or adventurous as you'd like by staying in the cabin or taking part in any of the endless activities in the surrounding area. The cabin was very nice and has all the comforts of home. Of the many things the cabin has to offer we mostly enjoyed grilling, the hot tub, pool table, and log rockers on the deck. We also had a wonderful time checking out The Great Smoky National Park and Gatlinburg. The only minor issue: although the cabin is very nice and clean it smells of cigarettes which can be an issue for non-smokers. Other than that minor issue is was perfect! There were no curtains on the door so everyone could see in and the ca bin is so small they could see you from the road anywhere in the cabin!!! No light on back porch so forgot the hot tub at night. No privacy!! The coffee table leg was glued on (not fixed). No offer of compensation when complaints given to management. There were a couple of little things that would have improved the stay though. First, the buckets outside on the porch were full of cigarette butts when we arrived.
