Stayed for 5 days in January, 2012 My wife and I took the Light Rail from the airport to downtown (Westlake) and then it was a short two block walk to the Metropolitan. Our stay was just right in the apartment. Our only complaint was the lighting. The bedroom lacked lighting for reading and the rest of the apartment with the exception of the kitchen and bathroom had less than desirable lighting. Other than that, our stay was close to perfect. The 8th floor was awesome with the pool, sauna, steam and work out facility. We even played a few games of pool in the library. We will rent again from Sea to Sky!! And when you walk into the living room and turn around, you're looking right at the Space Needle. If the view during the day is awesome, at night, when the Space Needle is lit, it's even lovelier. The unit was spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies. We took advantage of the building's amenities on the 8th floor (pool, spa, sauna) on many nights. We did have a few issues:1) When I originally booked the unit, I was told that there would be no problem with an early check-in if the unit was not occupied the night before. I specifically asked about this because our flight was arriving at 8:30am. However, when I called the day before our trip, I was told that there would be a charge for an early check-in.2)The toilet was broken when we arrived. However, I called SeatoSky and they promptly sent over a repairman who installed a brand new toilet that same day. I was impressed by the response time. The place was ready as promised, and in very good shape.Location is absolutely perfect. It is close enough to the downtown area that it is only a 5-7 minute walk to Pacific Place, but far enough away that it is very quiet at nights. The building is very comfortable, clean, and has very good amenities.The only concern is with the knives in the unit. The knives are extremely dull, and a hazard to use. Regular sharpening would help lessen the danger (next time we rent the same place, i may bring my own knife sharpener).Otherwise, it was nice to come home, cook a nice meal, and then flop on the couch to watch tv. The pics don't do it justice. The place is spotless and tastefully furnished. Lovely, well equipped kitchen. Clean, fresh linens provided. Building is very quiet - you don't really hear your neighbors coming or going and the residents are very friendly.We had a view of the Space Needle from our balcony..Nights are quiet with the occasional fire truck or ambulance. The sofa bed is the most comfortable one I have ever slept on. Overall, sleep quality is very good here.The heating was a bit temperamental but we didn't bother to get anyone to reprogram it for us. No problems at all with the Internet or wifi - in fact it was super speedy.Great amenities with a gym, heated indoor pool, sauna, barbecue areas. The guest lounge on the same floor as the pool and deck can be hired out for private parties.Sea to Sky rental was very proffessional and concierge provided exceptional service.Location can't be beat with Nordstrom, Macy's, Sephora, Barneys New York and more shopping just blocks away. Wholefoods supermarket is just 2 blocks away on Westlake Avenue. Great range of organic produce and they have delicious prepared meals to go. This is Seattle so Starbucks is everywhere.If you love sushi, I highly recommend Red Fin just around the corner. Its a sushi bar/ cocktail bar. I caught up with an old girl friend for amazing cocktails and the freshest sushi here. The only reason I could not give 'property general condition' 5 stars is that the coffee maker leaked while brewing.Other than that, metro 1011 is an outstanding place to stay. Everything was clean, spacious (for 2 people), and very comfortable and most importantly, quiet. Location was perfect, only 2 blocks away from Pacific Place (5 minute walk). 10-15 min walk to Pike Place.Sea to Sky is a very trustworthy company to deal with. Very professional and responds to emails in a timely manner.The only bad thing I have to say is I think people are now discovering this gem and it is becoming harder and harder to find an opening with Metro 1011.The gym is ok (good cardio equipment, ok weights though), the tvs for each cardio machine is a nice touch. Great place to stay in Seattle Susan M. from Olympia, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2008 I was happy from the moment we arrived at Metropolitan Tower. The concierge was very helpful and friendly and we felt right at home immediately. The condo was nicely appointed and well equipped, and the location was perfect. All-in-all a very relaxing (the pool and steam room helped with that) and satifying experience. We will defintely be back. Thanks for a great weekend !! Metropolitan Tower- Seattle WA A guest from Honolulu, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2008 The location is great- just a quick walk to Pike's Place, Shopping, etc. Not exactly right in the middle of things, but close enough. Really nice building- great fitness facility, pool table, outdoor garden, library, etc. The pool & hot tub were closed until further notice when I stayed there, so if that's really important to you, check first, as I didn't find out until I got there.Fully equipped kitchen with lots of extras- even a spice rack. Comfy couch (Pull out bed is ok, not the best) and nice clean bathroom. Tiny little balcony. You can see the Space needle from the living room window. If you're looking for a good restaurant, go to Wild Ginger. Fantastic. Overall, I'd stay there again... Seattle is a great city and the apartment was awesome. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2008 The building is in a great location and overall we had fun and were satisfied. My only gripe is the halls feel kind of like apartments and the unit itself is very nice, but not anywhere near luxury. Feels like a really nice rental. For 250-300 bones a night, I would expect a nicer kitchen and bathroom. The counters and appliances scream rental and the bathroom fan sounded like an airplane. Overall, it was great to have a parking spot downtown, however for the price of the unit, I would take want to try something else.....Overall, I would say, this place is clean, nice, safe, great parking, great location, but sorta plain jane. Pike Place Market, Ivor's on the waterfront, the Underground tour etc are all within walking distance. Our only regret is that we didn't rent the unit for a longer period. Oh well! Beautiful apartment/diappointing noise A guest from Chesapeake, Virginia recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2008 The apt was beautful and clean. Excellent view of the space needle. Very disappointed that the constuction across the street started the jack hammering at 7 AM every morning (isn't vacation a time to sleep in?). Also, disappointed that you had to use 2 remote controls to turn the TV on and the process was difficult (many buttons to push on one remote then the other remote, in certain order and had to wait for the TV to warm up). When we called to ask the property manager about the TV, she was very direct and did not sound like she cared about our frustration of the TV matter. Overall, we enjoyed the apt but would not stay there again until we knew that the construction across the street was completed. I never realized that it could be so loud so early! The wonderful little market offered everything from aspirin to gourmet sandwiches. The restaurant, Barolo, below was excellant as well. The apt. was appointed well but fell below on the cleanliness dept. The sheets looked slept in and there was a layer of dust over many peices of furniture. The cd player did not function and we could find no access to the billiards room. Also the BBQ's outside were non functioning. The soap container at the sink was broken and most general spices and condiments were empty. The second bedroom could be more adult friendly but overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent from sea to sky again.
