The living room is bright with Viga ceilings, skylights, Kiva fireplace and French-style doors that open up into a private back yard. There is a small dining table that will seat 4 in the fully equipped kitchen. The King size bedroom is very roomy with a desk and Armoire plus extra closet space. There is also a fax machine available. There is a full bath & stack washer & dryer. Private parking. This property will sleep 3 when using the sofa sleeper.

A quiet neighborhood filled with beautiful casitas. It's location near galleries, the Plaza, restaurants, the market, the railroad and grocery stores made it seem like home away from home. Walking everywhere would have been a simple feat but the car made getting around cozy and simple.My Christmas morning photography walk in the neighborhood produced both wonderful memories and fine pictures. That we had fresh snow for the morning was beautiful and stunning.I will definitely stay in a Kokopelli property again, and it may be Casita Don Manuel. The unit could have been cleaner, especially the dishwasher, which had dirty dishes in it and had very dirty, smelly standing water. We had to run the dishwasher in sanitary mode before using it to clean our dishes. This was a short term rental which required a $200 cleaning fee, which is excessive. Although we like to return the unit in the same condition as received, it is an imposition to request guests to take out the garbage bins for weekly collection. We were advised that there were certain written materials, including rules and instructions for the casita in the unit, but they weren't there. Pillows in armoire did not have pillow cases. Lounge chair outside belonged in a crack house. Staff sweet and apologetic, blamed everything on owner. I should get a partial refund. Used different company for rentals in past w/ great results. Local realtor referred you. Finally, write up claimed 5 minute walk to Plaza ! Most people could'nt run a five minute mile. No need to continue...... Unfortunately, the weather turned quite hot while we were there. With no air conditioning and numerous skylights, the house warmed up to an uncomfortable temperature during the day. Just a few minutes from town and other spots. Personnel are patchy when it comes to professionalism - some are great, some in a hurry to leave work, but this is typical of the area and should be expected in SF. Romantic casita A guest from New Haven, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in April, 2012 Casita Don Manuel is a delightful little place, five minutes by bike to the plaza. We stayed for two weeks and spent lots of time thinking how, with a little care, the casita could be perfect.It needs a thorough deep cleaning. The floors need a scrub and polish, the throw rugs should be replaced, and the fireplace front needs a good wash or new paint. The bed linens and spread are tired. We were unable to connect with either the tv or Internet. The place itself is lovely with a very usable patio, but we wouldn't return if it remained in the same condition. The property was nice, however, of all of the properties I have stayed at under your management, It was my least favorite. Geraldine L. from Phoenix, AZ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2010 I am incredibly disappointed with being charged for the condition of the disposal dishwasher which obviously was in that condition at check in. You will not accept that I did not shove an excessive amount of food down the disposal in my short stay. In Monday night out Friday am. Ate out at the workshop I attended for the most of the week and take out. You should have checked the trash. That is where the take out food was. there is a significant amount of cleaning maintenance fee that this should be covered in. You should have charged the person who was in the casita prior to my stay. Property Manager Response: Response from Kokopelli Property Management The owner was the last guest in the house and the charge was made to the guest because the guest left the house with multiple problems with the appliances. There were no problems with the disposal on the pre-inspection for the arrival of the guest. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2009 The Casita Don Manuel was a very pleasant small home near the center of Santa Fe. Although that walking distance is more like 15 minutes to the Plaza, it is not bad and yet the Casita is quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed is comfortable and the bath is quaint. The TVs are a bit small but there are two of them and the cable internet connects you to the world. The outside garden is wonderful. The inside fireplace is a real upgrade to the living room... open a door before using using it, or you may get a little smoke. All in all, it is a wonderful value for the money. The fees and insurance are a stiff % of the total cost but the owner has definite pride in the place.I'd come back. I stayed in another property from The Management Group a year ago, and was much more impressed by that place. It was larger, cleaner, closer to town, and the same price per day - a much better deal, and I was expecting the same from Casita Don Manuel and Kokopelli. Unfortunately, it fell short in all areas. Also, a neighbor of the property informed us that there had been many robberies in the neighborhood, which added some anxiety to the stay. Property Manager Response: This is one of our more popular and affordable one bedroom casitas. Some guests come for a second visit. This guest called on a Friday from the Grand Canyon and our office staff was very accomodating in trying to help him find an affordable casita for arrival the next day. She even arranged to meet him on a Saturday, when our office was closed , to process his payment as well as reducing the rent to $100 per night based on his very limited budget. The south capital area of Santa Fe is one of the most popular areas of the city. Unfortunatley, there are crimes in all parts of the city - it's a sign of the times.
