Description
Villa Dolce is a 60-square-meter (about 646 square feet) house which sleeps
four people. It features a 20-square-meter (about 215 square feet) terrace with
a spectacular view of Positano and the sea and with air conditioning.
There is a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a living-room, and a small
kitchen.
The place
Villa Dolce is a house located in the upper area of Positano, not far from the
state road. It is part of a group of houses built on the slopes of a steep hill
which overlooks most part of Positano and the sea. In order to reach the house,
from the state road, you have to go along a foot path for about 50 meters (about
164 feet) consisting of 80 steps.
You will soon realize that going for such walk is really worthy as you will
arrive in a small angle of paradise hidden amidst Boungainvillea and flowers, a
place from where you will enjoy breathtaking scenery. All around you are the
characteristic little white houses of Positano, each with its own small garden
or flowered terraces and inhabited by local families and not crowds of tourists.
Even Villa Dolce has its own terrace, caressed by the sun all day long. While on
the terrace, you will have a view which embraces an area going from the
surrounding hills to the picturesque valley where Positano is nestled, not
mentioning the view of the coast and the sea.
You will be only 100 meters (about 328 feet) away from the nearest shops, bars,
and restaurants of Positano.
The bus stop is only 100 meters (about 328 feet) away, which means you don’t
need a car during your stay.
The terrace
The terrace is the entrance of the house and stretches before the whole
living-room and bedroom area. A small gate and a wall separate the house from
the little pedestrian road.
Once on the terrace, you will notice that you have arrived in a special place:
the panorama comprising the sea, the coast, and Positano will absolutely enchant
you.
The terrace is the perfect frame to such beauty, with its glossy sea green
terracotta on the floor and on the top of the surrounding white wall, a red
Boungainvillea which stretches out its flowered branches towards the sun, the
white garden furniture, the large canvas umbrella, and vases with flowers. Right
below the terrace, you will see the green of a small and tidy family vegetable
garden, typical of the Amalfi Coast.
The terrace will be your favorite place in the house: while sitting outdoors,
you will feast your eyes on a scenery of coast and sea; you will feel as if
before a canvas with vivid colors which change hues according to the hours of
the day and night. Spending time in the terrace will be definitely pleasant with
a good book in hand or while having breakfast in the fresh air of the early
morning hours, or even while dining under the stars!
The house
Villa Dolce has gracious interiors as well. The living-room has a patio door
which leads to the terrace. It is furnished with a table and chairs, a double
divan bed, and two armchairs. In the living room you will find an air-conditioning unit. The small kitchen, separate, is at the far end of
the living-room. It is equipped with a four-burner stove, a fridge with freezer,
and an oven.
A small corridor leads you from the living-room to the double bedroom and
bathroom with shower. The bedroom has a patio door leading to the terrace, and
it also has a view of the sea. The bathroom is equipped with a shower.
The beach
If you want to reach the beach from Villa Dolce, it is possible and convenient
to take the local minibus which runs constantly within and around Positano.
At least once, if your knees allow you to, take some time and do not miss the
chance to descend towards the beach on foot.
You will have to go along a path which unravels through old pedestrian streets
and little narrow stairways enclosed by the walls of the houses which here and
there unveil bits of the sea scenery. You will walk inside this little town
which is often gazed at by fascinated tourists from the sea.
This will be the best way to go on a search for the most authentic aspects of
Positano… and of course, once you have arrived at the beach, you can dive into
the sea, or, along with the crowds of tourists, after a deserved stop to enjoy
some ice-cream sitting in a bar in front of the sea, you can go back to villa
comfortably sitting on a bus!
