This unit has two master suites with a king bed in one and a queen in the other. They are both equipt with flat screened TV's. The third bedroom has a queen size bed and the fourth bedroom has two twin beds. The living room has pine walls and painted cement floors. The sofa in the living room can be made into a full size bed. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook your catch of the day. Not quite up to par BRUCE F. from AUSTIN, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 30 days in October, 2011 The refrigerator was not working correctly. Shelves were broken and missing causing many problems for 3 weeks. The microwave turntable was missing and the toaster was broken. I believe these things should have been resolved before I was allowed to rent the property. The refrigerator was a real problem because my produce was all frozen and destroyed. Mice got into my food and contaminated a lot of food in the pantry. The beds were nice. The TV'S need to be upgraded. I didnt go to watch TV but my grandkids always do. Our group total was 14 with ages starting at 2, 5, 7, 10 and up. We loved that the pool was so close to houses. Rooms were very spacious in house so u never felt crammed in there. We cooked all our meals at the houses and came down with our own groceries. The pans were a bit old so I had brought my own to use. My only complaint was the lack of maintenance of the outside. The charcoal grills looked as if they hadn't been cleaned since beginning of season and nobody dumped trash by pool either . These were problems we took care of ourselves so it worked out. The beach is not within walking distance if you have kids. We ended up having to drive to get to the beach. The disposal was broken which made clean up a bit difficult, but not a deal breaker. When we arrived there was a car in our spot, I was assured it was empty. We unloaded for 5 days only to walk in on a couple already there. The owner had apparently let his friends stay there without telling the company I rented from. We were relocated to a nice place several blocks OFF the beach (original place was on the beach) and had to relocate 3 nights into our stay again. One of the members of our party could not find the new location (GPS could not locate) and drove around for hours before the police assisted after he was questioned and tested for DWI unjustly. Very disruptive and disappointing. There was no compensation offered. I have used this company before without a problem but without any compensation offered for our issues this is VERY disheartening as we visit Port A at least annually if not more. Villa de Paraiso is a nice house and met most of our needs, but beach access is a problem...the walkovers near the property are privately owned and gated, and you have to drive to the beach access road. Walking is not a good option, especially if you are carrying chairs, coolers, etc. Recommend that you delete the comment in the property overview that the house is just a short walk to the beach. The house was adorable and had a fun kitchen with seating for eight, which was great for our large family. (We actually rented two houses, but convened in Villa de Paraiso for meals.) Everything was spotless, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, plenty of towels, linens and extra blankets. The pool is right outside the front door, which made it very convenient for taking the kids. With regard to location, I thought it was just fine, but as far as I could tell, there wasn't really any good way to walk to the beach from here. You are really only about one block west of the beach, but you have to have access to a walkway to go over the dunes, and those are mainly private. We drove to the beach each day, and that was very easy as there are beach access roads within 1/2 mile to the north and to the south. We also brought along ou bikes and biked around the entire town. Port A isn't very big, and the Royal Palm Cottages (including Villa de Paraiso) are close enough to the "main" part of town that you can make it anywhere in just a couple of minutes driving. The property management company , Port A Escapes also made the entire experience effortless. When we stopped by the office to get the keys, they had our paperwork ready for us and it didn't take more than a few minutes to get checked in. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working; it was ultimately repaired but the information packet we were given did not have an "after hours" contact number. It was several hours until a late arriving family member found a number via the internet on his Iphone that we were able to contact help. Also, while we were happy to see (by the business card left on the window sill) that the house had been recently sprayed for pests, my niece was very unhappy with the dead roach in the sheets on her bed as well as the dead roaches found on the stairs going up to bed. We spend a lot of time at the coast so we understand the insect investation but I'd suggest housekeeping visit the properties after the pest control people leave.
