The home is far enough outside of town that the beaches a quiet and the shelling is great.There are 2 bedrooms, each with queen size beds and 2 baths on the 2nd level. New hardwood floors and tile throughout the upstairs.On the lower level, with it's own private entrance, is another large area with new queen size bed, and 2 twin beds, so the house easily sleeps at least 8 people.The downstairs connects to the upstairs by an exterior flight of stairs. Cable TV on both levels, with the upstairs having VCR/DVD and the downstairs having VCR. Outside deck with a view of the water, fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances. We had seven people with plenty of room to spare. The location was close enough to town that we could drive in for anything we needed but far enough that the beaches felt quiet and semi-private. The boardwalk was only a short walk and an access rd was nearby when we wanted to bring the car down to the beach. There were a few minor details that the management advised they would address (coffee maker missing carafe, loose door handle) but nothing that would stop us from returning for another stay in this rental. Management advised that had we called them about the coffee pot during our stay, they would have brought us a new one. Good to know for next time! It is one of the furtherst properities from the beach - 5 min walk. Air conditioning units did not work well and probably need to be replaced. My only complaint - both the upstairs and downstairs AC units would not consistently cool every room, even on the lowest temp setting at night. Sleeping on top of the covers sweating through a humid 80+ degrees was not fun. If the AC units worked consistently well, I would have recommended this property. Great Location--has everything you need--but, some maintenance work needed! A guest from Schertz, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 Great location--very roomy, good funishings with 3 bathrooms and High Capacity Washer and Dryer! But, the Happy Starfish (LC36) needs some attention. The balcony/deck on 2nd floor needs work (loose/missing boards, needs treating/staining) and will soon be a "safety hazard" if not fixed. French doors to balcony/deck need better working door knobs/locks--lubrication would help! Several light fixtures (including kitchen overhead) inop and towel rack falling off wall. Had wireless internet, but, no instructions on how to long into it. All in all, very good place to stay...would be EXCELLENT with a little TLC! Nice location, very clean 5 min walk to beach Anthony A. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2011 Location was very good, and we would definitely rent there again. The house was very clean and well stocked with a nice decor and plenty of room, looks just as nice as the photos!, nice deck (can see a SLIVER of the ocean from up there), with lots of room. The beach it's lined up with is quite nice, soft sand, though there is seaweed, but great for kids. Does have traffic driving on beach occasionally, probably quite busy in summer months. So, here's the issues & things to be aware of:1. stairs are very steep (bad for toddlers & elderly/injured)2. Second floor and first floor are connected only by stairs outside - if you have older indepedent kids, it's great - they have a completely separate sleeping area with shower, bathroom, mini-fridge, 3 good beds, dvd player/tv and couch. If younger, you REALLY need baby monitor at the least.3. Advertises sleeper sofa, there were NO pull-out sleeper sofas or ones big enough to comfortably sleep an adult4. Pool is not heated, so if winter time not useful.5. Grill is basic Weber round charcoal, downstairs under deck, so not very easy to get to and from. We didn't use it, just wasn't worth it. But kitchen was well stocked, so no biggie.6. This was second furthest unit in the area, which meant a fairly long walk along drive way (about 5 minutes), but definitely bearable, and didn't have to cross any roads.Overall, it was great, well worth it, and staff was very helpful and worked with us so didn't have to go out of our way (like delivery of keys or other stuff).
