The size of the condo was very accomodating, however the cleanliness was a little disappointing. The carpet was nasty and the floors were grimy. The beach was within walking distance though, which was nice. The downside is that this house is in a bad area of Port-A, our vehicle was broken into and cash stolen, and the golf cart was messed with by someone trying to take the starter. Not ideal house/area if you want a relaxing vacation at the beach!! I would not stay at this house again. Positives: location a block from beach. Kitchen had enough pots and pans Quiet. Cool A/C. Clean Good layout of condo with view of pool on two balconies. Negatives: Master bed was very saggy. Main TV was 25" Tube in a very low position. Remotes and DVD did not work. Ice maker in freezer did not work. Many light bulbs out. Coffee pot did not have filters (I left some). No basic spices unlike advertised.When I called up mgr and complained they didn't have enough glassed they brought new glassware in a few hours. However, they weren't able to fix remotes or ice maker.Generally a pretty good value for about $250 or so a night vs renting two hotel rooms if you have a large family. The glass wall of both patios were so dirty that you could not see out of them, literally. The channel changer had a dead AAA battery. No can opener. Stairs and deck at front door filthy. Swimming pool on Sunday overrun by rowdy/drinking adults and children who were not being observed or diciplined. The AC worked beautifully and the linnens were nice. The units seemed fairly safe. The maintenance crew came Monday afternoon to duct tape the mirror, which was appreciated since we had two little children with us. More appropriate response would have been to replace it. It was very roomy, and the pool was wonderful. The only negative aspects were that it was very dusty/sandy inside and one of the bathtubs had been overlooked in the last cleaning. When I called Tracy (who worked for the property management company), she sent someone right over to take care of the bathtub. In addition, she was kind enough to stay late on the day of our arrival (we were running a bit behind schedule) so that she could check us in. The furniture was all very comfortable. The air conditioner was not quite strong enough to cool the upstairs as well as it did the downstairs, but it was not something that would keep me from renting this condo again. Overall I would certainly recommend this property, and especially this property management company, to anyone. After my initial booking, I didn't hear back on confirmation, didn't receive a guest packet or information on where the property was, what to expect, etc. As it's managed by professional realtors, I expected excellent communication and marketing and that wasn't the case. Also, the condo itself, while renovated a la "Trading Spaces," the master bed downstairs was VERY uncomfortable, the beds upstairs were much more comfortable. The furniture, in general was very uncomfortable, and there was noticeable dog hair on the floors. Some new knives would be nice, as well. The location is awesome, though... The pool was awesome and the property manager, Gloria, was fantastic. The employees at Port Aransas Escapes were so helpful and went over and beyond the call of duty. It was like staying at a five star resort. My only complaint was that the living room had a strange smell. Probably just from the humidity. I seem to be the only one in our family that noticed it though. Also, just a heads up that there are no plastic cups, so probably a good idea to bring along some solo cups. Everything else was there except for a can opener but we told the people at Port Aransas Escapes and I'm sure they will put one in the unit. We are looking forward to going back soon!!! It's an easy walk to the beach, only a couple of minutes with easy access to a boardwalk. Great 2nd and 3rd floor balconies facing the sea breeze. The unit has a nice kitchen and living area. The unit is decorated beachy but tasteful. Even though pets are allowed, you couldn't tell any pets had been there before - unit was very clean. It's in a well kept complex with a nice pool too. The only negative I could say about the unit is the master bed is not very comfortable, it slept very hard. We didn't use the other beds so I'm not sure about them. I would definitely stay there again though for the price, size, amenities and location. We had a great long weekend and our dog loved the beach!
