The Ocotillo Lodge, an Alexander design, was originally built for actor/singer/cowboy Gene Autry. The resort was a favorite with many movie stars that vacationed in Palm Springs in the 50's and 60's. Just a mile south of downtown, this nicely furnished 1 bedroom 1 bath condo is conveniently located close to area shops, restaurants and the casino. The resort boasts spectacular views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Relax and bask in the warm desert sun by the large fan-shaped pool and jacuzzis. Enjoy the large clubhouse which includes a gym, pool tables and card tables, and overlooks the pool and the mountains surrounding the valley.
The bedroom includes a king size bed and is supplied with quality linens and towels. The living room has new beign leather sofa and chair. Relax just steps away from the shared spa which can be accessed from the living room throuh the glass doors. The kitchen and dining room are fully loaded with everthing you would need to prepare and dine in style. ALL THIS AT GREAT RATES!

You don't know the condition till you open the door! A guest from Victoria, BC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 30 days in March, 2012 The location was great, close to all ammenities. The unit left a lot to be desired. Looking beyond the decor of the unit, it was in less than acceptable condition; the blinds were very dirty and when touched individual panels fell to the floor. Could not even open the blinds in the bedroom for fear that all the panels would fall down. The bathroom linen was sub-standard (frayed edges and stained) and we had to clean the utensils, glasses and dishes in the kitchen before they could be used. The carpet had a very large stain in the bedroom and the bathroom mats had not been washed. The toilet required frequent use of the supplied "plunger" to make it work!The Sun & Fun Staff were excellent to deal with and were attentive to getting all the leaky faucets fixed for the duration of our stay. Unfortunate that the Rental Company is faced with representing a unit that requires so much attention to be brought up to an acceptable standard for rental purposes. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2009 After finding ourselves in a situation that was unacceptable, Allen and Bill came through for us and saved our vacation. The unit was quaint, but was in need of some upgrading. The plumbing needs attention, new window shadews and carpet streacthing are suggestions. We enjoyed our stay, the central location and the salacious history of the Lodge (ie Marlyn Monroe suite). We had a great time. Pampered in Palm Springs David A. from Quebec, CANADA recommends this property. Stayed for 31 days in January, 2008 Great vacation stay in wonderful, safe surroundings. Greatest feature is friendliness of permanent residents & snowbirds, a lot of whom have been coming many years, thus creating a big family atmosphere. Helps that many were fellow Canadians. Had a very nice Valentine's Day party/dance with entertainment. Made some long-time friends, which is an added bonus. Negatives: had 2 big windstorms & lots of sand, , dust & dirt blown into condo via kitchen window that couldn't fully close & front door frame not properly insulated.
