We are a couple in our forties, with a 9 year old son and a yellow Lab. We had more than enough room in the cabin - we never really used the TV area or the loft above the laundry room - we certainly could have slept more people. We fully utilized the kitchen, shower and laundry - - which all worked well, except the dryer, which isn't a big deal. It is the cute cabin in McCall experience with beach access. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 reserved this cabin for my family and met up with them on last day to be hit in the face with a horrible order. Something has crawled in there and died. They had looked all over for it, I couldn't find it and the air fresheners they bought couldn't mask the smell of death. There were a few problems we noticed. There is a persistent smell of gas from the heater in the front room. There was a burnt out lightbulb going up the stairs to the main sleeping area, also no handrail on either set of stairs....could be a possible lawsuit if someone fell. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2012 We enjoyed ourselves and loved the location of the cabin; however we would likely not select this cabin again, as it was not as clean as we would expect from a vacation rental (cobwebs, cat hair, dirty cookware) and there were some electrical issues that gave us some concern (flickering lights due to old switches on both wall and lamps). It took a day to figure out how to maintain a comfortable temperature in the rooms we were using but once we figured it out it was nice. I would recommend keeping the instructions for the gas fireplace in a more obvious location for renters (we found them on top of the refrigerator under the phone book). We had only seen the cabin on the website and were pleasently surprised. The website pics don't do it justice. The cabin was more than we had hoped for. Private beach access was also a surprise. This should be mentioned on the website. It was great. Oh yea, we were there to celebrate on daughters 12th birthday, this is one she will never forget. There were many burned out lights and spider webs. The frying pans all had food burnt to the bottoms and the oven didn't work. If you are looking for luxury, then this cabin is not for you. We found the quantity of the owner's possessions a little off-putting. We have stayed in many types of rented vacation accomodation, and we appreciate that the owners will often use the property too, but this felt excessive. There was little free storage space for our food and clothing. It would also have been useful to have some form of information pack provided on arrival. For example, the property is described as having 'lake access' which we misinterpreted as access to the lake! We enjoyed McCall and its' surrounding area nonetheless. SOme windows were missing screens and the second "loft" bed involved climbing up a ladder to enter loft area which might not be good for young children or older adults with mobility issues.
