Description
Located on Lake Lure, the views of the mountains and lake from the deck and patio are absolutely breathtaking. If the views and the sound of the water lapping don’t carry away your stress, stepping into the lake and feeling the sand between your toes should do the trick! The water depth is shallow and increases gradually, which is nice for children and wading.
The road entrance to the home is on the upper level of the house. This upper level has the washer and dryer conveniently located near the stairs leading to the main level. This level also has a full bath and four (4) bedrooms.
Down the stairs is the main level of this cozy home. The open floor plan is perfect for the views and to spend time with family and friends. If you stand at the bottom of the stairs, straight ahead is a spacious, fully-equipped kitchen. To the left is the dining area and further still is the living area. On this main floor is another bedroom and full bathroom (shower stall-no bathtub) and the sofa converts to a sleeper.
Behind the sofa is a bank of large windows. Just open the blinds to admire the mountain and lake views. If you want to get a little closer to nature, to the right of the bank of windows is the door to the deck. Near the house are trees that shade a portion of the deck. This is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning beverage or to relax out of the full sun of the afternoon. If you prefer sun, the spacious deck offers plenty of options. Relax on the dock or above the boat house.
If you want to enjoy the lake and the mountains, the Wallace Lake House is the perfect getaway.
This home also offers internet service, six (6) televisions, basic cable, and games.
With the area's temperate climate and beauty, this home can be enjoyed throughout the year. Springtime brings the blooming of the dogwood and redbud trees as well as the azaleas, rhododendron and mountain laurel. Summer brings lush greenery and the autumn colors are extraordinary. Winters are mild and, with less tree obstruction, views are incredible.
Just 29 miles west is Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. You can tour the mansion and winery, and at Christmastime enjoy the beautifully decorated trees and lights. Biltmore Village is home to many unique shops and, according the Food Network Channel, one of the most beautiful McDonald’s restaurants in the world.
This area of North Carolina caught the attention of Hollywood years ago. A number of movies have been filmed in Asheville and at the Biltmore Estate. Chimney Rock Park is where The Last of the Mohicans was filmed. This a perfect place to spend the day hiking and admiring the magnificent views. Dirty Dancing, My Fellow Americans, Firestarter, and A Breed Apart were filmed at Lake Lure. As National Geographic’s pick as one of the top ten most beautiful man-made lakes in the world, no wonder Lake Lure has been a popular filming site.
Additionally, the Lake Lure area offers seasonal scenic boat tours, tennis, golf, horseback riding, biking, fishing, and restaurants. Quaint Bat Cave offers unique shops. Just 20 miles away is Rutherfordton, where you can enjoy wonderful meals and great shopping. Thirty minutes away historic Hendersonville boasts antique shopping and live theater.
