On both occasions, the rental manager helped us find condos that met and exceeded our expectations. Our go to place on Maui. Convenient to Kaanapali, Lahaina and Napili. If you are looking for lots of excitement, this is not the place for you. Luxury condo at Hololani Resort in Maui Lana L. from Plaverville, CA recommends this property. Units being remodled ruined our vacation A guest from Woodland, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 10 days in December, 2011 From the first day of our vacation two of the units on the property were being remodled. Both of these units had people out on the patios cutting tile which there was no getting away from you couldn't sit outside on your patio or lay by the pool. We were forced to go somewhere else to relax.After the grinding noises finally stopped (about 3 days later) the painting in the unit below us began. Oil based paint was sprayed and the fumes drifted up and stayed in our unit. It didn't matter whether we closed the windows or opened them, it permeated our unit and hung there for days. Normally paint fumes do not bother us, but these were so strong that it burned the inside of our mouths, noses and our eyes.Understanding that these units are older and do need to be done from time to time, there must be a better way to handle the noise and painting so that guests are not disturbed.We have stressful lives and were just looking forward to some peace and quiet. We were more than disappointed. We have been coming to the Hololani for over 25 years and do not think we will be returning.We are not people that complain so to write this, you must know it was awful. On top of that, we were not even offered any type of refund. I really think something should have been done for us for the five days we were forced out of our unit in order to breathe and enjoy some quiet elsewhere! Stayed for 6 days in August, 2011 This was a wonderful vacation but we could not sleep on the king bed. It needs to be replaced. It is hard, lumpy, and has scratchy sheets. We slept on the smaller bed but missed using that room for sleeping. When we arrived (in the rain)at 3pm afternoon, we couldn't find any staff anywhere on the property. We finally found the room on the 8th floor and noticed it was open with a note on the table. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time or be greeted. We loved the grounds and the beach location and the place was truly spotless. Change the mattress and we will be back! As for the condo it was nice, comfortable, extraordinary view and with everything we needed including WI-FI wich help planning our stay. We would have appreciate more comfortable sofa on the balcony it was OK but could have been better. We were happy with the location as we prefer beaches for snorkling and we were close to lot of great one though we find it was far when we wanted to go for visit on the rest of the island it was at least an hour before we get to Kahuilui from where most of the destination starts. For us it wasn't a problem but it could have been. Also if you want to go to the Luau dinner in Lahaina booked before leaving home it was full through all our vacations. The condominium resort is nicely located close to Kapalua, Kaanapali and Lahaina. Our unit was very comfortable with a beautiful ocean front view of Molokai. It was nice to have a kitchen to cook in and not be forced to eat every meal out. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a plus. Marcia, the manager was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The pool and grounds were basic but nicely maintained and clean.We will not hesitate to recommend the Hololani to our friends. We look forward to returning again. We were VERY disapointed to find out that there was no beach and that these pictures were 3 years old. We talked to people who come yearly and said that this beach had been gone for 3 years and they had said the web site should have been updated to indicate this. Hololani B804 is First Class! Nancy M. from Oakland, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2010 Hololani is a perfect location and B804 is absolutely beautiful! They recently remodeled B804 and it is lovely. The condo is big and comfortable, with a direct view of the ocean from every room. We loved watching the sunset and listening to the surf all night. No need for air conditioning with the sea breeze and ceiling fans in each room. The owners thought of every convenience, including beach chairs and beach towels. There were also boogie boards downstairs to borrow, or you could rent any equipment you need right across the street. It is a nice quiet location, but just a couple of miles down the road you can join the action at Kaanapali. We cooked on the gas grill by the pool nearly every night. Marcia and the staff at Hololani are terrific, very friendly and helpful. We could not have asked for a better vacation home, and we will definitely be back. My husband is in a wheelchair and he ended up falling out when my son hit an uneven patch of ground. A sidewalk to the opposite side of pool would have been great. Also if the unit came equipped or we had the ability to buy laundry soap, coffee filters, etc in small quantities. Our condo had an extremely well equipped kitchen and the furniture was very comfortable. The clothes dryer didn't work, bathroom fans didn't work, and the kitchen floor was sticky.These are all very small things and we look forward to renting this unit again.
