Our stay at Pine Mountain Sharon B. from Pleasanton, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2011 The location of this property was fabulous. The trees, lake, and majority of houses are stunning. Although the 15/077 property is nice, the house was not well maintained. There were cobwebs in the vaulted ceilings, the deck was not clean, the chairs on the deck were dirty, and the kitchen was not clean (utensils, etc.). We understand lake houses are usually not as well maintained as primary residences, but we were dissappointed in the property. I gave my four year old two glasses from the cupboard and he asked if he should give the clean or dirty cup to his brother. When I looked at one of the cups, it literally had sand, ashes, or something on the inside. For the cost to rent this property for a weekend, we could have stayed at a four star hotel (cleaning fees etc). The town of Groveland and Pine Mountain Lake was great! Too pricey for the condition it is in. Mgmt(Carol) was great and provided everything needed. Place just needs some attention by the owner. The carpet and furniture really need cleaning. Blinds and screen doors kept falling off. Lots of dust accumulated on lamps, lights, sills, etc. Pillows need to be tossed out (too many stains). Thankfully, bathrooms were clean but sparse and no mats provided. Location is quiet and relaxing. The location is great for swimming and fishing and the deer made daily apperances. The furniture is older, but everything is in working condition. The house has 2 TVs, 2 VCRs, 1 DVD, games, books for little kids, videotapes for the whole family and a hammock in the shade - an unexpected bonus! We put the canoe and the pedal boat to a good use. The lakefront location allows the kids to jump into the lake conveniently. We have made good use of the boats provided by the owner. The kids had a wonderful time playing in water. Since the house is located inside the cove, it makes boating and swimming safer for the kids. The deck is also shady and cool. The kids also love the ice hockey and ping-pong table in the bonus room. It is a nice house for a family vacation. Deep cleaning will make the stay even more comfortable. We love the wired in deck with gates for our grandkids safety. Our kids love fishing from the paddleboat and we love the canoe. The kitchen was not as clean as we would like, and the appliances could use upgrades.(coffee maker, toaster,lamps, etc) There were plenty of utensils, but pots and pans need to be replaced, and at least one stove burner was unsafe. Carol and George are wonderful to work with, attentive, helpful, and personable. Although we would like a better working kitchen (we are a family of cooks) the other amenities are perfect for us right now with 3 grandbabies under the age of 2. The air hockey, ping pong tables, paddle boat and canoe were put to good use (we appeciated the owners leaving life jackets to borrow). The deck is nicely enlclosed to contain little ones. Though the house was clean and comfortable, it's not in immaculate condition -- hence more kid friendly. Lots of deer (fawns), squirrels, turtles and frogs. Great location.
