Ruined our vacation A guest from Alpharetta, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2012 We are only able to vacation about once a year and decided to go to the Orlando area for Spring Break. I reserved with Davenport Management by speaking with someone personally on the phone to book our vacation home - she suggested "the Manor" for our dates and we booked several weeks ahead, providing a credit card number. I spoke to her again a few days before coming down and she emailed us the confirmation code, gate code and lock box code for the house. After a tiring 9 hour drive with two chidren we arrived just as dusk was about to fall, to find the lockbox wouldn't open. The office was closed and the emergency number they gave us went straight to voicemail. We left messages, no reply. After a while we decided to call the house phone number thinking it might forward to the management company. Someone at the house answered the phone and said THEY had rented this house for the week from Davenport management and we were "disturbing" their vacation. We started calling 411 for numbers to hotel chains we knew of - it was dark and we were unfamiliar with the area and didn't know where things were. Everything was booked because of Easter week. My youngest heard my husband say we may have to sleep in the car and started to cry. By midnight, we ended up finding a place but it was twice the price which was really difficult on us financially. When we finally got a hold of them the next day, all they said was "there was nothing they could do" and "they didn't charge our card". No apology, no explanation except "the owner rented it to someone" (that's not what the people told us). The callous disregard and unprofessional behavior boggles the mind. We will tell everyone we know to stay away from this company. |

Cheap interior Jean-Louis L. from Vankleek Hill, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in December, 2011 CONS: No wireless, cheap mattress that you feel all the springs, only an old supplied computer that would take hours for internet, dirty carpets, lots of dog hair indoor and outdoor, no face cloths, banana-shaped pool table, no play station as advertised. PROS: had one problem with the pool but management quickly fixed the problem, very well located, nicely decorated, quiet and safe-gated neighborhood. Overall: the stay was good, but property needs new mattresses and a new pool table and clean the carpets |
