Our vacation A guest from Frederick, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2012 The water was not turned on when we arrived. Also the hot water heater was turned down. This should have been down a few days before we arrived. This was not acceptable. There wasa dirty sock under one of the beds along withcandy wrappers. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2010 We called The Best of Canaan they suggested The Penthouse as a reasonable priced and easily accessible lodging. The top floor end unit location was quiet with a cozy atmosphere. Every thing in the unit was clean. We had a wonderful stay and are considering returning with another couple since the 2 bedrooms with separate baths allow privacy. We cooked one night and found the kitchen well appointed. We enjoyed the fireplace and views from the deck. Our rental agent Donna Patrick was especially helpful.
