Featured in Coastal Living magazine, the house boasts views of the cove, classic d├ęcor, and a provincial bunkhouse overlooking the beautiful manicured garden.

INSIDE THE HOUSE

Past and present coexist in this beautiful home, beginning with the stunning main floor. Hang up your coat and take off your shoes in the ?Boot Room? and enter into the open dining/living room area. With cathedral ceilings, exposed beams, windows on 3 sides, and built-in bookshelves that stretch all the way to the ceiling, you may feel like you?re in the hold of a 19th century schooner. Open a book and relax on the couches or in the comfortable wing chair. You?ll find a flat-screen TV here, as well.

Guests will love the fully equipped country kitchen, with its substantial wooden worktables, woodstove (non-working), and plenty of cast iron cookware for whipping up Apple Pan Dowdy and Indian Pudding the way Grandma used to make them. Enjoy a meal at the wooden dining table in the elegantly appointed dining room, with French doors that look out onto the garden.

The master bedroom is located on the main floor, and is furnished with a queen sized bed. It enjoys a lovely garden view through French doors to the backyard, lots of sweet traditional touches, including a private library and reading nook, and peaks of the cove.

You?ll also find the master bath, complete with claw-foot tub and shower, on the main floor. It?s shared with the other first floor bedroom.

Climb the steep winding staircase and you?ll find the private sleeping loft, with double bed, exposed beams, and stunning views of Mill Cove, plus its own bathroom.

A second upper level is home to a bright studio space, ready and waiting for your artistic pursuits. Bring your manuscript or work on your next album! The harbor views here are sure to inspire you.

Kids and hopeless romantics, alike, will fall in love with the rustic bunkhouse off the garden, furnished with a twin bed and lots of antiques, including a dollhouse. Tables and chairs are set up with puzzles, chinese checkers and other board games. Let the sounds of a distant fog horn and coastal birds sing you to sleep as you nap here, dreaming of another era. The bunkhouse does not have any running water or heat.

Last but certainly not least, our house boasts a well-tended organic garden for you to enjoy. Harvest produce for your next salad or vegetable side.

Besides overlooking the water, the house is within walking distance of the town of Boothbay Harbor, which boasts lots to do both on and offshore.

Just a 5-minute drive away you?ll find Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, a 250-acre waterside haven where you can smell the roses or pause for meditation. Catch this season?s blooms and keep an eye out for the sculptures that call the gardens home.

Enjoy a traditional Maine clambake on Cabbage Island, catch a show at Carousel Musical Theater, or simply explore the shops and cafes downtown. Be sure to take a tour of the Burnt Island Light Station while you?re here for a peek at a classic Maine lighthouse.

Some suggestions:First, the house is very cute and wonderfully decorated. Well doneItems that we believe should be addressed:1. The plastic chairs on the deck of the gaming guest house - Terrible - Need to be upgraded. Rockers are great!2. Towels in most rooms are really low to moderate quality and are way to small All those need to be upgraded dramatically. Would make a huge difference.3. The bed sheets for the bedroom in the loft need dramatic upgrading. Very low quality and do not fit the bed well.4. The toilet seat in the loft bedroom really is 'on the cheap'. Not fun to sit on it when it moves around because it really does not fit the base commode well.5. The truth be known, the loft bedroom should be changed to be in the office and the office in the loft area. Just too dangerous and uncomfortable to stay in the loft.6. The double bed mattresses are marginal at best for comfortable sleeping even for average size people.......and none of our party of 6 are overweight. Queen size mattresses would be much better - and of higher quality would be much better.7. Larger visitor coffee cups would be awesome! It may also be a personal preference but getting up multiple times to refill your coffee cup is bit laborious.8. You might want to spell out a bit more in detail what the loft bed room is like so when a group of six arrives, one couple is not surprised with low ceilings and bit of a cramped room. I?m sure there is a description that can paint a positive picture but be a bit more up front about what those quarters are like.9. A Barbeque grill would be great.Overall, the house is cute, quiet streets, really well appointed which = a lovely retreat. Extremely convenient to town without the noise of the

This house was absolutely charming. It is really bright and you can see the water from many of the rooms. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It is a short 2 blocks to Boothbay Harbor, which is an adorable beachside tourist town. The house has 3 bedrooms AND a separate detached guest room (bunkhouse) with a twin bed and vintage games. The porch outside the bunkhouse is where we sat overlooking the garden and the bay.

We loved our stay in Fleur de Lis and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable house in the mid-coast region. We loved being able to walk right to town, with all the neat shops and restaurants. But we also had wonderful family time right there in the house, especially in the boat house/game room! We played yard games on the lawn, enjoyed the herbs and veggies and beautiful flowers and the beautiful sunsets. The breeze blowing off the water was so refreshing. It was just what we wanted in our first Maine vacation!

There is so much character and love that has gone into this property. We had a very nice time relaxing, reading books, cooking and walking around Boothbay Harbor.
