Description
Casa Suira A is a comfortable apartment of approximately 70 square meters
(approximately 750 square feet) for up to six guests. It is located in the
hamlet of Suira (one of the 22 hamlets that make up the town of Bellagio),
approximately 2 km (one mile) from the center of Bellagio (the hamlet
known as Borgo).
The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single
beds, a bathroom, a living room with a sofa bed that sleeps two and a
well-equipped kitchenette, and a shared garden.
The place
Casa Suira is a two-storey house, located in the hamlet of Suira, a 25-minute
walk to the center of town and to the ferries. The house, which is part of a
rural neighbourhood where you will be living amongst the locals, has been
lovingly restored by the owners, who used to live there all year round.
You will find it very comfortable and with complete furnishings.
The closest restaurants and shops are located at approximately 1 km (0.6
miles) from the house. The stop for the local bus to Bellagio and to Asso
is at approximately 500 meters (half a mile), while the stop for the long
distance bus to Bellagio and to Lecco is at approximately 1 km (0.6 miles) as
well. Guests staying at Casa Suira enjoy a discount when using the
facilities of the nearby Bellagio Sporting Club, a 15 minute walk from the villa
(less than two kilometers, approximately one mile). At the Sporting Club you
will find a swimming pool, tennis courts, and an exclusive restaurant as well.
You will be able to reach Casa Suira by bus or by car. As the bus stop is
approximately 1 km from the house (0.6 miles) and taxi service is not always
readily available, we recommend having a car to tour the area. However, once you
are at the villa you will find that, if you like walking, using the buses and
the ferries you will be able to reach the many interesting lakeside villages, as
well as the towns of Como and Lecco, and their train stations. Private boat
trips on the lake can be arranged as well. If you have a car, you will be able
to park it at the villa.
Only the ground floor of Casa Suira is being rented out, and a local family
lives at the top floor of the house, which is completely independent. The
ground floor is divided into two apartments, A and B. The apartments are
completely independent as well, but if they are rented out by the same group a
connecting door can be opened, if desired.
Casa Suira has a nice, little, backyard, equipped with table, chairs,
umbrellas and a barbecue. The backyard is shared among the guests of the
two apartments, and here you will also find two parking spaces.
The apartment
You will enter the living room of Casa Suira A from the front of the house,
through one of two external doors (the other one leading to Casa Suira B).
The apartment is furnished to a very good standard, with characteristic ceilings
made in wood which incorporate spot lights that give an elegant touch and a
refined look. In the living room you will find a nice fireplace, a divan
bed to sleep two guests, as well as a cooking corner. The cooking corner
consists of a peninsula table with chairs and of a nice kitchen equipped with a
four-burner cooker, a refrigerator with freezer, an oven as well as other small
appliances. In this room you will also find a satellite television with a DVD
player.
A long corridor will take you from the living room to the two bedrooms and to
the bathroom. Along this corridor, on the right, you will also find a door
that, if open, connects Casa Suira A and Casa Suira B (when are rented by the
same party).
One of the two bedrooms is equipped with a double bed, the other one with two
single beds. Both have windows that overlook the garden. The
bathroom is large, and equipped with both a shower and a bath tub, as well as
with a washing machine.
Nearby tourist attractions
The neighbourhood where Casa Suira is located is a rather quiet one.
Even on a workday, the only sounds that you will hear most of the times will be
the birds singing in Italian.
You will be approximately 90 minutes from Lugano, Bergamo and Milan, and
roughly 30 minutes from Como and Lecco. The popular attraction of Villa
Carlotta, in Tremezzo, will be an easy trip by ferry across the lake, and you
will be able to walk to the botanic gardens of Villa Melzi, only roughly one
mile away (1.5 km).
In the area you will find a wide range of tourist services: fitness center,
squash facilities, and mountain bike rentals, a sports club with swimming pool,
tennis court, sauna, and gym. Water skiing is also available, and there is an
18-hole golf course 30 minutes away. From Chevrio (a 15-minute drive) you will
be able to enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Como. Several cafes and restaurants,
as well as shops, are available in the center of Bellagio (a 5-minute drive or a
20-minute walk).
Bellagio is the most well-known resort of the area, often referred as "the
pearl of the lake". It lies at the tip of the headland that splits Lake Como's two
branches (the west branch toward the town of Como, and the east branch toward
Lecco). Its charm fascinated, in past centuries, artists and poets, such as
Pliny the Younger, who once owned what is now Villa Serbelloni, and then Taine,
Longfellow, Twain, Stendhal, Flaubert, Faure, Liszt. The original charm is still
intact, and makes of this destination a must-see for travellers to Lake Como.

Serio.
