What fees are involved with a listing on LakeRentals.com?
LakeRentals.com works both with individual property owners and some property managers. Individuals may list their properties on our website for a standard cost of $99 per year, or through a Premium Listing at a cost of $149 per year. There is NO CHARGE to establish a user account, but in order to "activate" a property and have it show up on our website the above rates apply. Property Managers should

What marketing techniques does LakeRentals.com use?
LakeRentals.com's quality is built upon its strong online marketing campaigns, and maintains a dominating presence both in major search engines and through pay-per-click advertising. Additionally, we strive to be recognizable members of each community we serve by posting in local newspapers, travel guides, billboards, and vacation packages. LakeRentals.com has the most all-encompassing marketing campaign for lake vacation rentals in the country.
How are payments processed?
Payments are processed through our website's secure online environment. You may pay for your listing using a major credit card or through PayPal. If you would prefer to mail a check,
please inquire here first. If you would like to rent a property listed on LakeRentals.com, you will need to make arrangements for payment directly with the property owner.
How does my property become a featured property?
After establishing an account, you may activate your properties at any time. You will have the option to feature your property on our main page, or just within your own state or lake area. Featured properties generally get more than 5 times the views of non-featured listings. Featured properties on LakeRentals.com run monthly.
I am a property manager; are there any discounts for multiple listings?
Property managers can, and are encouraged to, list all of their properties with LakeRentals.com. Each property manager is different, and we will work with you to create a relationship that is mutually beneficial. We generally use a commission-based structure, as opposed to a flat-rate charge.
How many pictures are included in my listing?
LakeRentals.com allows basic listings a maximum of 1 photo and premium listings a maximum of 10 photos.
Why can't I see my new listing?
When you create and activate a new listing, it can take up to an hour for it to be displayed on our site. This can be due to a variety of reasons, but new listings usually show up within a half hour of activation If your new listing doesn't appear on our page after 1 hour, make sure you are looking in the correct state and lake pages. If you still cannot see your listing, e-mail us at
info@lakerentals.com and we will resolve the problem.
Why can't I see the changes I made to my listing?
When you make changes to your property listing through
www.palmsinc.com, it can take up to a half hour for those changes to appear. Whether you've changed some text in your description or added new photos, these changes may take several minutes to be displayed on your listing. If your changes are not visible after an hour, e-mail us at
info@lakerentals.com.
Can I list my property in two different locations?
In certain rare instances, it might be beneficial for a property to be listed in two locations. For example, Kerr Lake is located on the state line between Virginia and North Carolina. In this case, potential renters may be confused as to where to search for properties on this lake, so Kerr Lake is listed under both North Carolina and Virginia. If your property is in a similar situation, e-mail us at
info@lakerentals.com and explain that you'd like for your property to be listed in two different locations. Make sure to specify in which states/lakes your property can be found. This service is performed free of charge.
What should I do if I have forgotten my username and password?
If you've forgotten your username and/or password, just go to
www.lakerentals.com and click the "Forgot Your Password?" link in the top-right corner. You will be asked to enter your e-mail address, and then we will send you a copy of your log-in information.
Can I add a link to my personal website?
We allow you to list one personal link on your property listing. Most customers use this link to display a personal website of their vacation home or of the surrounding area. To add a link, go to
www.palmsinc.com, log in, click on your property, and then click "Property Information" on the left-hand side. From there, scroll down to "Homepage:" and paste your link in the field provided. Make sure it is a complete link, such as http://www.lakerentals.com.
Why do my uploaded photos sometimes show up as black boxes?
This occurs when there is an attempt to upload a very large photo. In order for a photo to be correctly displayed in your listing, it must be smaller than 2 megabytes and in GIF, JPEG, JPG, BMP, or PNG file format. Our photo uploading system also uses a crop feature, which ensures that your listing will display better and faster.
